Permalink 6/10 Snack Time Movies with Family I'm going to start with this I don't watch Indonesian movies a lot but this one caught my attention. I didn't expect a lot in the first place but this movie deserves quite a rating for entertaining your quarantined days, or for keeping you a company in the afternoon while working at home and sipping your evening coffee with your family, Kind of relaxing your nerves after hearing too much bad news on television. Dian Sastro has proven that she could actually be coming out from her shell - watching this movie will make you forget her as Cinta from AADC, although the makeover could have been more natural. This movie is in fresh and entertaining plot supported with its light jokes, easy to be understood by all levels of age, suitable for family time. The script of this film really helps the comedy become more fresh, plus a talented cast and has good was also amazed by how good the cinematography is, has a distinctive color tone, and shoots really well. The film is not bad, typical of Indonesian comedy films. Focusing on the problem of the main character of this film tells how he continues his job, but he is forced to return to his hometown and work as a substitute teacher. This film contains comedy, drama, a little romance and mystery. Unfortunately, the drama and comedy that is displayed in my opinion is not optimal, the storyline and ending are not quite right, there is cringe comedy at the ending. Apart from all that this film is worth to watch, especially with family. There is a moral message, there is even a little social critic presented in this film. 4 out of 6 found this helpful. I don't normally check out this kind, and yet somehow, I found this one a tad enticing. And for that, it deserves a credit. I still frown at their cringy choice of using 'gokil' as their movie title but I'm not gonna talk about the lousy story revolves around a man who's desperate to selfishly make a name for himself. All out of luck and money, he returns to his hometown and moves back in with his Father. He fakes a diploma to fool the faculty at a nearby school in order to fulfil his cruise-ship dream job. Then later he meets an attractive young teacher who kind of 'wakes' him up from reality. Long story short, with his colleagues, he tries to save the school's huge financial should let all know that Crazy Awesome Teachers is just another so-so yet quirky drama comedy which has some violance in its storyline; parental discretion is advised. The movie claims that the lead discovers the joys of teaching but it never shows on screen. The audience never actually see that development occurs and that's violating the first rule of good storytelling Show, don't tell. I hadn't even heard about the 2020 movie titled "Crazy Awesome Teachers" aka "Guru-Guru Gokil" before now in 2021 as I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it. I briefly checked up on the movie before sitting down to watch it, and it seemed like it was a movie that could prove I will say that if you enjoy a movie that is equal parts drama, comedy and crime, then "Crazy Awesome Teachers" is a movie that you should give a chance. I must admit that I actually enjoyed the the storyline was pretty generic, but at the same time, it actually worked out well enough, because it was nicely written and had a good amount of comedy to it that definitely helped spruce it I am not overly familiar with the Indonesian cinema, so there weren't anyone familiar here in the movie. But I will say that they actually performed quite nicely and brought their individual characters to life on the screen in a good way."Crazy Awesome Teachers" is a feel-good movie, and it is one that I definitely will recommend you taking the time to watch, if you want a light comedy with a good rating of "Crazy Awesome Teachers" lands on a six out of ten stars. 0 out of 0 found this helpful. Permalink ss="point-scale">/10 Portrays How Underpaid the Teachers Are in Indonesia, but Packed in a Comedy Film Warning Spoilers It has several life lessons and the movie portrays a sad reality for teachers in Indonesia but in comedic I watched this movie, I was expecting to see Taat's character development as a teacher more, and maybe other teachers' too. But somehow there was the catching-the-culprit storyline more than the teaching part. At first, I thought the crime and catching-the-culprit storyline was unnecessary and it ruined the teacher theme, but it shows how underpaid the teachers are to be that desperate for money and it is packed in comedy scenes. Aside from that, other scenes portray how underpaid the teachers are. But I still thought that the catching-the-culprit part was a little bit too much. Overall, the comedy script was able to make me laugh even though sometimes it was a little bit cringey, and there were life lessons in this movie, especially from Taat's character and his relationship with his father and others. In my opinion, the storyline could have been better if they lessen the crime plot and focus more on the teachers' life so the audience can feel a lot more that this movie was dedicated to teachers. 0 out of 0 found this helpful.
